This is the Apple response to the breakdown of iCloud

As a first approximation, an iCloud breakdown that led to the spread of personal photos of Hollywood celebrities are caused by weak passwords. This was confirmed through the Apple statement.

"After 40 hours of investigation, we found several accounts of celebrities have become the target of physical attacks by attacking the name, password, and security question" Apple said. Apple also refuse the leaks as a result of the weakness of the iCloud system. "Our investigation found no indication of a leak coming from the Apple system, including iCloud and Find My Phone" Apple added.

The end of last week, a person (or group of people) who have not been identified to spread hundreds of personal photographs of Hollywood celebrities sharing site 4chan. When the photo spread, the person calling to get these photos from iCloud account each artist.

Speculation was rolling about how these people managed to break through iCloud. One of the blow is strong speculation that the person utilizing the iCloud weaknesses can be broken down (brute-force).

For information, brute force is the way to break into an account with continuously enter password combinations until it fits. Typically, a service provider to prevent brute force by limiting the number of passwords that can be included in a particular duration. The problem, as long as it does not use the iCloud protection mechanism against brute force. Only after this case happens, Apple patched the weakness.

However, the results of the investigation dispelled speculation about brute force. This shocking incident was caused by the use of weak passwords. Well, still underestimate the password?
